| Overview Andy and Claudina welcome you to Alle Borre a beautifully renovated 260-year-old farmhouse, full of rustic charm and character. It is set in 5 acres of meadow and sweet chestnut forests overlooking the Serchio river valley below Established in 1989, the house and apartments are available for rent all year round. There is always someone on hand to answer questions and help make your stay as enjoyable as possible. The Farmhouse contains three self catering apartments which can be rented individually or as a whole house: all apartments boast original chestnut-beamed ceilings and face the valley, giving incredible views and overlooking the small pretty village of Torrite, a beautiful walk of 3kms, where there is a small supermarket and bakery for fresh bread every morning. Cerretoli is our nearest village, perched on the hill behind the house, a 20-minute walk away. It has a wonderful trattoria, serving traditional Tuscan cuisine. Just 10 mins away is the lovely market town of Castelnuovo that has many pizzerie/ristoranti -enough for every night of your stay, and cheap- the average meal with wine usually costing 15 Euros per person. A little about the area: An ideal location and very peaceful, - The house is perched on the hillside just 4km from the market town of Castelnuovo with its various shops, bars, restaurants, railway station, and lively market on Thursday. Just 1hr north of medieval Lucca - enjoy a day pottering in the market, exploring the designer shops, or walking/cycling around the enormous walls which are still fully intact and encircle the entire town; 15 minutes from the medieval town of Barga famed for it's art and culture; 2hrs from Florence celebrated as the most beautiful city in Italy, and 1 hr from the coast. The real beauty of the area is the breathtaking countryside, the endless walks, the hill top villages to explore and the tranquility.
